If we are liable to you for any reason, our liability will be limited to the amount paid by a buyer for the product concerned.

When you activate any of these links you will leave our website.  We therefore have no control over, and will accept no responsibility or liability in respect of, the material on any website which is not under our control.

The limitations and exclusions in this clause do not affect buyers non-excludable statutory rights and only apply to the extent permissible by applicable law. These exclusions of liability shall not apply to any damages arising from death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English Law and it is agreed that the English courts shall have exclusive jurisdiction in the event of a dispute. Every effort is taken to ensure we have the right to use images and text here on our website, most of the images and text are reproduced with full permission of our suppliers, however should you feel an image or text you own the rights to is being used without permission and in a way you do not approve, please write to us for its immediate removal. NB some images and text are the property of Midland Fire On-Line, all rights reserved.

 

  1. WHAT DO WE DO WITH YOUR INFORMATION?

Midland Fire Safety & Electrical Services Ltd, T/A Midland Fire On-Line will be what’s known as the “Controller” of the personal data you provide to us.

We ask buyers for their name, telephone number, address, and email address. When a purchase is made on our site, in addition to the above, we also ask for a delivery address, and payment method details. We may obtain information about your usage of our Web site to help us develop and improve it further. We do not store credit card details nor do we share customer details with any third parties.

When you browse our store, we also automatically receive your computer’s internet protocol (IP) address in order to provide us with information that helps us learn about your browser and operating system.

Email marketing (if applicable): With your permission, we may send you emails about our store, new products and other updates.

  1. CONSENT

When you provide us with personal information to create an account, place an order, arrange for a delivery or return a purchase, we will either ask you directly for your expressed consent, or provide you with an opportunity to say no.

Your data will enable us, and our processors, to fulfil your order and to notify you about delivery details and changes.

With your permission, we will also send email newsletters from time to time to inform you about our products, buyer promotions and special offers. If you no longer wish to receive email newsletters simply unsubscribe or email us at customerservice@midlandfireonline.com

We comply with the standards, procedures and requirements laid down in the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) to ensure that the personal information buyers give us is kept secure and processed fairly and lawfully.

We shall not make our mailing list available to other companies.

In assessing a buyers request for goods, we may use the information for the purposes of the prevention and detection of fraud. At all times where we disclose information it will remain secure.

As a buyer you have the right to request a copy of any personal information we hold about you. To do this, simply write to us at the address below, enclosing a cheque for £10 payable to Midland Fire, Safety & Electrical Services Ltd to cover our administration costs.

To protect your personal information, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed.

All the personal data we process is processed by our staff in the United Kingdom however for the purposes of IT hosting and maintenance this information is located on servers within the United Kingdom with X-Cart on a secure server behind a firewall with backup servers located in Quebec Canada.  No 3rd parties have access to your personal data unless the law allows them to do so.

We have a Data Protection regime in place to oversee the effective and secure processing of your personal data.

xid - unique token, sessional.

recent_login - stores your username to auto-complete the sign-in form next time you visit the store. Persistent for 3 days by default (can be changed by store’s admin).

viewedResources - holds a list of cached CSS files, this is used to make store’s pages loading faster. Persistent for 1 hour.

rv - holds a list of products you recently viewed in the store. Does not expire.

xc_np_product_#### - holds product identifiers, used to navigate within store’s catalogue. Persistent for 30 minutes
